Yes, the 1980's. David Bowie scared me as a child. I blame Labyrinth, Jim Henson and my chain smoking babysitter. Also, I think aqua haired guy has the worst job ever: Bad News Giver. He's been in the comic before under similar circumstances.

    I can see why Bowie scared you so much… He freaks me out too. Now that you mention it, Labyrinth is probably what frightened me the most!

      Yeah, he only scared me in Labyrinth when I was little. Out of that movie, he’s awesome. The creatures in the movie used to freak me out.

      David Bowie is still alive and good! He’s only scary in Labyrinth! He cleans up well!

    But also, the art has been getting better and better. I’ve been loving the mood built up by the last few pages, and the palace is just perfect.

      Oh man! I’ve never seen that! Pretty awesome! Our George here will be singing too in the future, most likely. Probably a David Bowie song.

      These last pages were more inspired by the John Adams miniseries. I used it as reference for the palace and other scenery.

      And thanks for the compliments! I think doing one page a week is giving me more time to focus on the drawing and putting more effort into the backgrounds.

      I’ve watched that movie as an adult too and I can see how it was scary for me as a kid. However, as an adult, I appreciate David Bowie’s tight pants in that movie a lot more. :D TMI

    loved Labyrinth the first time I saw it (at ten. Probably less
    scary at that age, especially for a person into the evil fae since
    she was old enough to understand Grimm had it right). Been
    following for a while. Can’t recall if I’ve commented yet or not. I
    enjoy checking for updates (A little too often, probably). I like
    the mix of history and rock. If this had been the real deal, I
    probably would enjoy American history a bit more…
